Genetically engineered biosensors for the detection of biological threats.

We are developing technologies to address current global threats to human and animal health and would appreciate a few minutes of your time to complete our survey below.

TAKE OUR SURVEY

Developing cutting edge technology to meet current demands of bio-surveillance.

With more than 800 poultry farms and 2600 companies working in poultry industries, in UK alone, any viral disease outbreak can cause huge economic loss to the agriculture sector.

The frequency of avian flu outbreaks is increasing in recent decades, due to growth in poultry industry and high density farming, and change in patterns of migratory water birds due to climate change.

A single viral outbreak results in culling of the entire flock of birds in a farm, healthy and infected alike, leading to a huge economic loss. It also results in quarantine of a large area, restricting mobility of animals and people to prevent further spread and zoonotic transmission. It takes years to recover from the loss, financially and psychologically(farm brand wise).

How do we plan to solve the current issues?

Real-time monitoring of flu viral load in animal drinkers will allow early detection of potential viral outbreak in poultry farms.

Reduce Loss

Our technology will help to prevent disease outbreak in flocks and heavy loss in stock yield.

Innovative Systems

Resilient engineered cell lines and electronic detection enable real-time monitoring instead of current assays that are driven by symptoms.

Time is key

With a 14 day incubation period, our technology could save a few critical days to help contain virus propagation and alleviate economic impact.
